The Parishad recently organised a two day programme to mark the Vijay Diwas and the 400 years of Jaigirdari celebration. On 16TH May, a children drawing competition was held whereas on the 20TH, along with the prize distribution ceremony a grand cultural evening was held. For the first time these programmes were held simultaneously at Barisha, Halisahar and Birati. A seminar at Halisahar and various other competitions along with a grand dinner at Birati were added attractions.
Both at Halisahar and Barisha eminent guests presided over the functions. At Barisha the Secretary of the Asiatic Society Sri R. Chakroborty was the main guest.
The family members as well as other well wishers and family friends were present at these functions and were overwhelmed with the attractions.
